8th March marks the International Women’s day, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide. The day also calls for action in accelerating women's equality. On this day, PPRD East 3 would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary women who play a key role in their countries and in the success of PPRD East 3 programme in the realm of #civilprotection.
Their pivotal contributions highlight not only their competences, skills, exceptional energy, empathy and strategic outlook, but also underscore the essential role of women and gender dynamics for reducing disaster risk.
These accomplished women showcase a profound ability to build robust networks, transcending traditional boundaries, and harnessing the strength of diversity. Their unique perspective and collaborative courage and grit, not only enrich the programme’s approach but also amplify its impact, demonstrating the effectiveness of gender-inclusive strategies in achieving tangible results in civil protection.
We honor these women today on IWD2024 and all days, for their exceptional dedication and acknowledge the transformative power they bring to the forefront of disaster #prevention, #preparedness and #response.
We have many dedicated women working hard towards more resilient societies and today we salute you all with a special thanks to:
